Day 45 - Broadcast Yourself But Watch Out For Trolls!

One of the easiest tools available to us bloggers these days is video broadcasting. Almost all new computers come with a webcam built in, not to mention iPad and web enabled cell phones. With just the touch of a button we can broadcast a live video message directly to Youtube, Facebook or Twitter.

However be prepared to occasionally run into snags. Sh..t happens! Two events that occurred this week brought that to light for me. First I spent an hour or two at a local Octoberfest event video recording the festivities. Then I spent a couple of hours parring my recordings down to an eight minute video. I uploaded it to Youtube, which in itself took almost an hour, it was accepted and I was told it would be an hour or day maybe for it to be published.

That was four days ago and still no video! Who knows what nether-land it ended up in.

Then a good friend and guru had his ContestBurner video pulled by Youtube powers that be because someone decided it was spam. Since participation in the contest is totally voluntary and nobody goes there unless they choose to, I don't know how they came up with that determination and I think they're decision is arbitrary and discriminatory. Or more simply put... just sucks!

Still, video broadcasting can be fun is definitely a good way to get traffic to your web sites, so on we plod. One little obstacle won't stop us.
