For the last three months I have been following Ed Dale's Challenge 2010 program which has inspired much of the content and consistency of this blog but now that Challenge is over and in order to keep moving in a forward direction I have taken on a new challenge in my life: to complete Gary Ryan Blair's 100 Day Challenge.
I must admit that Gary's challenge is a lot more daunting, because it focuses less on concrete tasks and technical expertise and more on personal introspection and growth.
Instead of looking for a market and testing it, I am attempting to set down personal goals and a game plan for accomplishing them.
Today Gary conducted a brief phone confab with participants and in it he laid down the gauntlet for us to identify our biggest competitor or obstacle standing between us and success.
Mine turned out to be ME. My own laziness and apathy are my biggest competition. Nothing stands in the way of my success more then my own tendency to "veg out" in front of the TV or computer screen while I put constructive work aside.
My second biggest competitor is my lack of focus. As I have mentioned before, I have been guilty of jumping around from one program to another for the last two years. Now I am attempting to limit my focus to no more than three programs and to hold myself accountable for completing the tasks I set down in each daily.
Up til now those programs have been
- Challenge 2010
- The 100 Day Challenge
- 365 Days in the Life of a Blogger
With the wrap up of Challenge 2010 I am still undecided whether to pursue Ed's Immediate Edge program, work independently or sign up with another group program. Will keep you posted on the outcome.
